Mishra Riots Probe Stay Extended: Court Grants Relief Till May 7
A Delhi court on Monday extended the stay on further investigation into Law Minister Kapil Mishra’s alleged involvement in the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. The stay will remain in effect until May 7.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued the order after hearing arguments on the matter. The court was informed that notices served to some respondents on April 9 had not been delivered.
The delay in serving notices necessitated the extension, allowing for proper legal process to be followed. The court adjourned the case to May 7 for further proceedings.
This development comes as a significant relief for the Law Minister, delaying further scrutiny into his alleged role in the communal violence. The ongoing legal battle highlights the lingering sensitivities and unresolved questions surrounding the 2020 Delhi riots, underscoring the need for thorough investigation and justice for the victims.
