HC seeks NIA response on PFI leader’s plea for 15-day custody parole

PFI Leader’s Parole Plea: NIA Seeks Time, Delhi HC Awaits Response

The Delhi High Court on Monday entertained a plea from OMA Salam, a leader of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), seeking a 15-day parole to visit his Kerala hometown. Salam’s request is currently before Justice Ravinder Dudeja.

The court, however, has not yet made a decision. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating Salam, requested additional time to submit a written response to the court.

The NIA’s request for an extension was granted by the judge. A further hearing on the matter will be scheduled subsequently.

This case highlights the ongoing legal battles faced by PFI leaders following the organisation’s ban. The outcome will have significant implications for similar future parole applications and the broader legal fight against alleged anti-national activities.
