Vij Orders Probe into Haryana Construction Worker Registration Mess
Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij has ordered a high-level inquiry into alleged irregularities in the registration of construction workers. The move follows numerous complaints received by the minister’s office.
A three-member committee has been constituted by the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to investigate these complaints.
The committee comprises Sunil Dhillon representing workers’ unions, Bhupender Sharma representing employers, and Joint Secretary AK Deshwal from the Labour Department.
This committee is tasked with thoroughly examining the registration process and addressing the concerns raised by the affected workers. Their findings and recommendations are expected to be submitted soon.
This development comes as a significant step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the welfare board’s operations. The timely resolution of these issues is crucial for protecting the rights and benefits of Haryana’s construction workers, a vital segment of the state’s workforce.
