BJP chief Sunil Jakhar blasts government over rising crime rates

Punjab’s Law & Order: Jakhar Slams AAP, Draws UP Comparison

BJP leader Sunil Jakhar launched a scathing attack on the Punjab government on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, over the recent murder of a businessman. He blamed the deteriorating law and order situation on the rise of gangster activity.

Jakhar drew a stark contrast between Punjab’s current state and Uttar Pradesh, highlighting what he sees as a significant failure of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

He accused the AAP government of failing to keep its promises on improving safety and security. The alarming rise in drug abuse among the youth was also a key point of his criticism.

Jakhar demanded immediate and decisive action to curb the rising crime rate and protect Punjab’s youth from the scourge of drugs. He called for a comprehensive strategy to restore law and order and instill public confidence.

This incident underscores the growing concerns over escalating crime and the need for effective governance in Punjab. The upcoming elections will likely see this issue take center stage as voters demand accountability from their elected representatives.
