Chamba’s Sacred Sites Deserve Religious Tourism Boost, Says MLA
Himachal Pradesh MLA Kewal Singh Pathania has urged the state government to integrate Chamba’s rich tapestry of temples and pilgrimage sites into its religious tourism circuit. He believes this move will significantly boost the region’s economy and enhance its spiritual appeal.
Pathania highlighted the immense devotional significance of sites in the Chamba district, citing the already popular Manimahesh Lake as a prime example of its potential. He envisions a comprehensive plan to promote these lesser-known yet equally significant locations.
Beyond tourism, Pathania also announced several developmental projects slated for Koonr. These include the construction of a new school building and much-needed road improvements to enhance connectivity and infrastructure.
The MLA’s initiative underscores the need for a balanced approach to development in Himachal Pradesh, combining economic growth with the preservation and promotion of the state’s cultural and religious heritage. This holistic strategy could serve as a model for other regions rich in similar assets, ensuring sustainable growth and preserving India’s diverse spiritual landscape.
