Haryana’s Tech-Driven Policing Boosts Conviction Rates
Haryana Police have significantly upped their game in tackling crime, thanks to a massive training drive and technological upgrades. Over 54,000 officers have received training on the latest criminal laws, equipping them to handle cases more effectively.
This initiative is coupled with the implementation of eSummon and eSakshya systems. These digital tools have streamlined the process of issuing summons, with over 91% now being sent electronically. This has also improved the collection of digital evidence.
The state has also established dedicated examination centres, facilitating smoother investigations and witness testimonies. These combined efforts have demonstrably improved conviction rates.
The success of Haryana’s approach offers a valuable model for other states grappling with rising crime rates and the need for efficient, modern policing. The emphasis on technology and training highlights the potential for leveraging digital tools to enhance law enforcement and ensure justice.
