Logjam Scandal Rocks Himachal: CID Probes Pandoh Dam Debris

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has ordered a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probe into the massive accumulation of logs at the Pandoh Dam. The unprecedented build-up followed recent cloudbursts and flash floods in the region.

The investigation aims to ascertain the reasons behind the logjam, addressing growing public concern and sharp criticism levelled by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The BJP has alleged negligence and mismanagement by the state government in handling the aftermath of the natural disasters. The party is demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.

The CID probe will examine various aspects, including the effectiveness of the flood mitigation measures and the role of forest department officials.
