Ambala Hospital Expansion: Work Resumes After Two-Year Halt

The stalled expansion of the Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital will finally resume this month, officials confirmed. Construction had been suspended for two years.

A new contractor has been appointed to complete the remaining civil works, a project initially estimated at Rs 77.44 crore. The work is expected to be finished within 18 months.

The extension will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity, adding a much-needed critical care block and improved parking facilities. This is intended to alleviate congestion within the recently upgraded hospital.

This development comes as a much-needed relief for the residents of Ambala and surrounding areas, who have long faced challenges accessing adequate healthcare facilities. The timely completion of this project will significantly improve healthcare access in the region.
