Kangra’s Monsoon Fury: Crumbling Infrastructure, Rising Risks

Torrential rains lashing Kangra district since July 7, 2025, have exposed the fragility of its infrastructure. Dharamsala, Nagrota Bagwan, and Jwalamukhi are bearing the brunt of the downpour.

Roads are crumbling, landslides threaten homes, and flooding is widespread. The damage highlights years of neglect in infrastructure maintenance and inadequate drainage systems.

Poor construction quality is also a significant factor contributing to the extensive damage. Many structures are proving unable to withstand the intensity of the monsoon.

Locals are demanding immediate government intervention. The situation poses serious risks to life and property, demanding urgent repair and preventative measures.

This monsoon’s devastation underscores the urgent need for robust infrastructure development and proactive disaster management in Himachal Pradesh. The state government must address these systemic flaws to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
