DU Hindi Dept Faces ABVP Heat: PhD Delays Spark Protest
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) launched a strong protest outside the Delhi University Hindi Department on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Their ire was directed at alleged administrative irregularities, inordinate delays in PhD result declarations, and accusations of student harassment.
The ABVP representatives voiced serious concerns about the prolonged wait for PhD results, impacting the academic careers of numerous students. They presented evidence of what they termed “systematic administrative lapses.”
Allegations of harassment levelled against certain department officials further fueled the student union’s anger. The ABVP demanded immediate intervention from the university authorities.
The student body’s demands include the immediate release of pending PhD results, a thorough inquiry into the alleged irregularities and harassment, and the establishment of a robust grievance redressal mechanism for students.
Failure to address these issues, the ABVP warned, will lead to further protests and agitations, escalating the pressure on the university administration. This incident highlights the growing concerns regarding transparency and accountability within the university system, impacting the future of countless aspiring scholars.
