Chandimandir Hospital Achieves Milestone: First Successful Stem Cell Transplant
Command Hospital, Chandimandir, has marked a significant advancement in medical care with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Haematology Centre. The centre is equipped to treat a wide range of blood disorders and cancers, including the critical procedure of stem cell transplantation.
A major milestone was achieved on June 12, 2025, with the successful completion of the Centre’s first stem cell transplant. The procedure was performed on a patient suffering from multiple myeloma.
Captain Mirza Saleem Amjad led the expert medical team, receiving invaluable support from specialists at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
The patient made a remarkable recovery and was discharged on June 30, 2025. This success underscores the hospital’s commitment to providing world-class healthcare.
