Himachal Heroes: HRTC Duo’s Daring Gorge Rescue
Two Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) employees displayed exceptional bravery on July 8, 2025, rescuing two critically injured men from a treacherous jeep accident near the Tanglang La Pass. The incident occurred in a remote and difficult-to-access area.
The driver and conductor, whose identities are yet to be officially released, responded swiftly to the emergency. They rappelled down into a deep gorge to reach the accident site.
Facing considerable risk, the duo skillfully stabilized the injured men, improvising a stretcher using available materials to carefully bring them to safety.
The injured were then transported to a nearby army hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Their condition remains critical, but is reportedly stable.
The HRTC has announced that both employees will be formally honored for their selfless act of courage and quick thinking. This incident highlights the extraordinary dedication of frontline workers in challenging environments.
