Sukma Blast: Naxal Commander Sodhi Ganga Arrested, Accomplices Named
The Special Investigation Agency (SIA) achieved a significant breakthrough in the Sukma IED blast case on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with the arrest of Sodhi Ganga. Ganga, the head of the local Revolutionary People’s Committee (RPC), a Naxalite faction, is a key suspect in the attack.
The blast, which occurred earlier this year, tragically claimed the life of ASP Akash Rao Girepunje and left two others injured. Ganga’s arrest marks the first major development in the ongoing investigation.
During interrogation, Ganga reportedly confessed to his involvement in the deadly attack and provided crucial information leading to the identification of several accomplices. The SIA is now actively pursuing these leads.
This arrest is a significant victory in the fight against Naxalite insurgency in Chhattisgarh. The information provided by Ganga could unravel a wider network and potentially prevent future attacks, bringing much-needed relief to the region.
