Punjab Launches Rs 778 Crore Health Shield: Cashless Treatment for All
Punjab is set to roll out a comprehensive cashless health insurance scheme, the “Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna”, from October 2, 2025. This ambitious initiative will provide medical coverage up to Rs 10 lakh per family to all 3 crore residents of the state.
The scheme will cover treatment at both government and empanelled private hospitals, ensuring wider access to quality healthcare. Residents can obtain their health cards through Seva Kendras or by registering online.
The state government has allocated a substantial Rs 778 crore for the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, highlighting its commitment to improving the health and well-being of its citizens.
This landmark initiative promises to significantly alleviate the financial burden of healthcare for Punjab’s families, particularly those from economically weaker sections. Its success will be crucial in strengthening the state’s public health infrastructure and improving overall health outcomes.
