Rewari Man Busted: Sisodia Impersonator Extorted Using Five Phones
A resident of Rewari, Jai Kishan Bharadwaj, has been apprehended for audaciously impersonating former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Police investigations reveal a sophisticated operation involving the use of five mobile phones.
Bharadwaj allegedly contacted numerous high-profile individuals, including politicians, bureaucrats, and businessmen. His motive? Extortion and the promise of favours in exchange for money.
The accused cleverly obtained Sisodia’s previous mobile number through Vodafone’s contact services. This provided him with the credibility to carry out his fraudulent scheme.
The arrest, made on July 9, 2025, highlights the increasing vulnerability of public figures to sophisticated impersonation scams. The ease with which Bharadwaj accessed Sisodia’s old number raises serious concerns about data security and privacy. This case serves as a stark reminder of the need for robust mechanisms to prevent such impersonation attempts and safeguard sensitive personal information.
