Headline: 34 Clusters & ₹105 Crore Boost: Fisheries Sector Gets Major Push
Union Fisheries Minister today launched 17 new fisheries clusters across India, taking the total number under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana to 34. This significant expansion aims to further strengthen the nation’s fishing industry.
The Minister also inaugurated projects worth ₹105 crore spread across 11 states. These projects are expected to significantly improve infrastructure and boost fish production.
Several fish farmers were felicitated during the event, acknowledging their crucial role in making India the world’s second-largest fish producer. The recognition underscores the government’s commitment to supporting this vital sector.
This substantial investment and expansion of infrastructure will not only enhance India’s position in the global seafood market but also create numerous employment opportunities, particularly in coastal and rural areas.
