Himachal’s Tourism Body Rejects Hotel Outsourcing Plan
The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has strongly opposed the state government’s move to outsource 14 of its loss-making hotels. The Corporation believes a comprehensive viability study and targeted renovations are more effective solutions.
HPTDC maintains that internal management can turn the hotels around. They point to recent increases in revenue and a growing trend towards self-sufficiency as evidence of this potential.
The Corporation has formally requested the government to reconsider its outsourcing decision. They urge the government to commission a detailed feasibility study before any drastic steps are taken.
This decision holds significant implications for Himachal Pradesh’s tourism sector and the livelihoods of numerous employees. The outcome will impact the state’s ability to manage its tourism assets effectively and attract future investments. A well-informed decision based on thorough analysis is crucial for the state’s economic growth.
