Rs 37.5 Lakh Bounty on 22 Naxals Who Surrendered in Chhattisgarh

Twenty-two Naxalites, carrying a combined reward of Rs 37.5 lakh on their heads, surrendered before authorities in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on July 11, 2025. Their decision follows growing disillusionment with the Maoist ideology.

The surrendered Naxalites expressed a desire to lead normal lives, citing the hardships and futility of the armed struggle. They are now slated to undergo a rehabilitation process under the state government’s scheme.

The Chhattisgarh government has welcomed this development, viewing it as a significant step towards its ambitious goal of eliminating Naxalism by March 2026. Rehabilitation packages, including vocational training and financial assistance, are being offered.

This surrender underscores the ongoing success of the state’s anti-Naxal operations and the growing disenchantment within the Maoist ranks. The government’s commitment to rehabilitation is crucial in achieving lasting peace and development in the affected regions. The success of such initiatives will significantly impact the future of conflict-ridden areas across the nation.
