Ten Sailors Rescued After Gulf of Oman Attack

The European Union’s Aspides naval mission announced on Thursday that ten crew members have been rescued following an incident in the Gulf of Oman. Three Filipino sailors from the ‘Eternity C’ and one Greek member of the Maritime Security Team were recovered from the sea during the night of July 9-10.

This brings the total number of rescued individuals to ten. The statement did not provide details about the nature of the incident.

The rescue operation highlights the ongoing security challenges in the strategically important Gulf of Oman, a vital waterway for global oil shipments. The incident underscores the need for enhanced maritime security measures in the region to protect seafarers and ensure the smooth flow of international trade.
