Assam Migrant Lynched in Arunachal: Parents’ Fury Ignites Mob Violence

A 19-year-old Assam migrant working at a construction site in Arunachal Pradesh was lynched by a mob on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He had been apprehended earlier by the parents of several schoolgirls he allegedly molested.

Following his arrest and handover to the police, a large mob stormed the police station. They overpowered the authorities and dragged the young man out.

The youth was subsequently lynched by the enraged mob. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and the circumstances leading to the mob violence.

This tragic incident highlights the growing concern over mob justice in the region and the urgent need for strengthening law enforcement and community engagement to prevent such occurrences. The incident raises serious questions about the safety of migrants and the rule of law in the state.
