Daria Godown Bust: 2,503 Liquor Cases Seized, Probe Launched
Excise officials conducted a major raid on an unlicensed warehouse in Daria on July 11, 2025, uncovering a massive stash of illicit liquor.
The raid yielded a seizure of 2,090 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 413 cases of country liquor. The godown operated without the necessary licenses and permits.
Authorities discovered unregistered liquor stocks with tampered barcodes, raising concerns about tax evasion and potential health risks. Two suspicious vehicles were also found at the site.
Samples of the seized liquor have been sent for testing to determine their quality and origin. A thorough investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators and unravel the network behind this illegal operation.
This significant seizure highlights the persistent challenge of illicit liquor trade in the state and underscores the need for stricter enforcement to protect public health and revenue. The investigation’s outcome will be crucial in deterring future such activities.
