Haryana CM Slams Mann, Sparking Fresh Punjab-Haryana Row

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Saini launched a scathing attack on his Punjab counterpart, Bhagwant Mann, on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Saini deemed Mann’s questioning of Prime Minister Modi’s recent foreign visits as inappropriate and unbecoming of a Chief Minister.

The criticism follows Mann’s public remarks questioning the efficacy of the Prime Minister’s international engagements. These comments immediately drew sharp rebukes not only from Saini, but also from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and several BJP leaders.

Mann, however, stood his ground, asserting his right to scrutinise foreign policy decisions and highlight pressing domestic concerns. He maintained his questioning was in the public interest.

The escalating war of words between the two Chief Ministers has ignited a fresh round of political tensions between Haryana and Punjab, raising concerns about regional cooperation and governance.
