Hyderabad to Host Rare Earth Magnet Production: Govt Push for Self-Reliance

The Central Government has announced plans to establish a rare earth magnet production facility in Hyderabad. This significant initiative aims to bolster India’s self-reliance in strategic materials.

The decision was confirmed by a minister speaking to ANI on Saturday, July 12, 2025. The National Ferrous Metals Technology and Science Mission (NFTSM) institute, under the Ministry of Mines, is spearheading the project.
