AAP Leaders Cry Foul: Political Witch-hunt or Genuine Probe?

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has vehemently denounced the recent FIR filed against him and fellow AAP leader, Dr. Balbir Singh Arora. The complaint, lodged by Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa, is, according to Cheema, a blatant case of political vendetta.

Cheema alleges a conspiracy between the Congress and BJP to target AAP leaders. He claims this action conveniently overlooks numerous pending cases and shields known criminals.

The Minister accused the opposition parties of deliberately employing such tactics to stifle the Aam Aadmi Party’s ongoing anti-drug campaign.

He asserted that this will not deter him or his party from their commitment to eradicating the drug menace in Punjab. The FIR, filed on July 12, 2025, is currently under investigation.

This incident underscores the escalating political tensions in Punjab, raising serious questions about the fairness of investigations and the potential misuse of law enforcement agencies for political gains.
