Bihar Man Busted: Fake EV Dealership Scam Nets Rs 5.81 Lakh

Sirsa police have arrested Nayan Kumar, a resident of Bihar, for allegedly defrauding a local businessman of Rs 5.81 lakh. Kumar, it is alleged, used a fake electric vehicle dealership offer to lure his victim.

The businessman transferred the substantial sum via RTGS, falling prey to the elaborate scam. Police swiftly tracked Kumar down using the bank transaction details and a fraudulent email address.

Electronic devices were seized during the arrest. Investigations are underway to uncover the extent of the cyber fraud network and identify any potential accomplices.

This arrest serves as a stark reminder of the increasing sophistication of online financial scams targeting Indian businesses. Vigilance and caution remain crucial in protecting against such fraudulent activities. The police are urging the public to report any suspicious online transactions immediately.
