Haryana’s Solar Push: 1 Lakh Antyodaya Families to Get Free Power
Haryana is aggressively pursuing its ambitious PM Surya Ghar Yojana, aiming to install free 2 kW solar power systems on the rooftops of one lakh Antyodaya families. This initiative promises significant relief from rising electricity bills.
Over 26,000 families have already benefited from the scheme, a considerable step towards achieving the target. Kaithal district alone has seen 1,707 installations completed.
The scheme’s success lies not only in reducing household energy costs but also in promoting clean and green energy sources within the state. This aligns perfectly with the national push towards renewable energy.
The state government plans to expand the scheme further, adding another one lakh families to the beneficiary list after the initial target is met. This expansion demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable development and energy security for the most vulnerable sections of society. The initiative’s success will serve as a model for other states grappling with energy poverty and environmental concerns.
