Shimla Gets 24/7 Waterline: No More Office Runs!
Shimla residents can now breathe a sigh of relief. A new 24/7 helpline, 8767198000, has been launched by the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) and SUEZ to address all water supply related issues.
This initiative eliminates the need for residents to physically visit SJPNL offices to lodge complaints. Trained executives will handle all calls, ensuring prompt attention to every query.
The helpline aims to drastically reduce response times and provide accurate information to consumers. This move is expected to significantly boost public trust in the city’s water management system.
The service, launched on July 12, 2025, is a welcome step towards improving the efficiency and transparency of essential service delivery in Shimla. This model could be replicated in other cities facing similar challenges, setting a benchmark for effective citizen engagement.
