Golden Temple Bomb Threat: Faridabad Engineer Detained
Amritsar police on Friday detained Shubham Dubey, a software engineer from Faridabad, for allegedly sending threatening emails to the Shri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). The arrest follows a series of six such emails received by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) since July 14, 2025.
Dubey’s electronic devices have been seized by the investigating authorities. A thorough forensic examination is underway to gather crucial evidence.
The incident has prompted a significant increase in security measures around the Golden Temple. The police are working closely with central intelligence agencies to ascertain the motive behind the threats and to prevent any potential harm.
This development underscores the growing concern over online threats targeting prominent religious sites. The swift action by the police highlights the need for robust cyber security measures and effective inter-agency coordination to tackle such threats and ensure the safety of religious places across the nation.
