Hisar Airport Faces Power Cut Threat: Rs 94 Lakh Electricity Bill Overdue
Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar is grappling with a significant electricity bill arrears, amounting to a staggering Rs 94.43 lakh. This represents the highest outstanding amount owed to the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN).
The airport authorities have reportedly failed to settle their dues for the past eight months. Consequently, the DHBVN issued a disconnection notice, threatening to cut off power supply.
Following the notice, airport officials assured the power utility of prompt payment within a few days. However, the situation highlights potential operational disruptions at the airport if the payment remains outstanding.
This incident raises serious concerns about the financial management of the airport and its potential impact on air travel to and from Hisar. The timely resolution of this issue is crucial for ensuring smooth airport operations and maintaining public confidence.
