India’s Wireless Boom: 1.17 Billion Subscribers & Counting

India’s wireless subscriber base surged to a staggering 1170.88 million by June 30, 2025. This includes both mobile and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) connections.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released the figures, revealing a modest 0.21 per cent monthly growth.

This steady climb underscores the continued expansion of India’s digital landscape, particularly in the burgeoning 5G sector.

The data highlights the ongoing penetration of wireless services across the country, signalling significant opportunities for both telecom operators and ancillary businesses. The sustained growth will likely fuel further investment and innovation in the sector, impacting rural connectivity and digital inclusion.
