Monsoon’s Gentle Touch: Chandigarh Cools Down After Heavy Rainfall

Chandigarh enjoyed a pleasant respite from the heat on Monday, July 28, 2025, after experiencing heavy rainfall the previous day. A mere 2mm of rain fell, a significant drop from Sunday’s 33mm downpour.

The maximum temperature dipped to a comfortable 32.3°C, while the minimum settled at 26.9°C. This brought much-needed relief to residents after the recent spell of warmer weather.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) however, issued a yellow alert for Tuesday, July 29, 2025, warning of more rain and thunderstorms across the region.

Mohali emerged as the coolest area in the tricity, experiencing even lower temperatures than Chandigarh.

This fluctuating weather pattern underscores the unpredictable nature of the monsoon season in the region, posing challenges for farmers and city authorities alike. The IMD’s alert serves as a timely reminder for residents to remain vigilant and prepared for potential disruptions.
