Delhi’s War on Waste: Mega Clean-Up Launches August 1st

Delhi is gearing up for a massive clean-up operation. A month-long “Freedom from Garbage” campaign will commence on August 1, 2025. The initiative aims to significantly improve the city’s sanitation.

The campaign involves a coordinated effort from various agencies. This includes the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and other relevant bodies. Their focus will be on waste removal and improved sanitation practices.

Resident welfare associations (RWAs) will play a key role. Top-performing RWAs stand to receive substantial cash rewards. This incentivizes community participation in maintaining cleanliness.

The campaign, announced on July 29, 2025, is a significant undertaking. Its success hinges on the collective effort of Delhi’s citizens and its governing bodies. The impact on public health and the city’s image is expected to be substantial.
