Haryana Universities Blaze New Trail: Apprenticeship-Embedded Degrees Take Centre Stage
Kurukshetra University (KU) and Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region). This landmark move paves the way for the implementation of Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programmes (AEDP).
KU’s participation marks a significant first for Haryana, making it a pioneer in adopting this innovative approach to higher education.
The AEDP integrates practical, on-the-job training with academic coursework. This blended learning model is designed to significantly enhance students’ employability skills, aligning perfectly with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).
This initiative promises to bridge the gap between academia and industry, equipping graduates with the skills and experience demanded by the modern workforce. The success of this program in Haryana could serve as a model for other states seeking to improve the employability of their graduates and contribute to India’s burgeoning economy.
