Moga police made a significant drug bust on July 31, 2025, seizing a massive 1700 kg of poppy husk near Bhinder Kalan village. Two individuals, Gurjant Singh and Kailash Kumar, were apprehended at the scene.

The contraband was found concealed in a truck carrying 85 bags of the illicit substance. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the origin and destination of the shipment.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police have secured remand for both accused to delve deeper into the drug supply network.

This significant seizure underscores the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Punjab. The police’s proactive efforts are crucial in disrupting the supply chain and protecting vulnerable communities from the devastating effects of drug abuse.
