Air Rage: Passenger Slaps Panic-Stricken Fellow Traveller, Faces Flight Ban
An IndiGo passenger faces a potential flying ban after assaulting a fellow passenger on a Mumbai-Kolkata flight on August 1, 2025. The unruly passenger allegedly slapped a co-passenger who was experiencing a panic attack mid-flight.
The incident prompted the airline to deboard the aggressor, classifying them as an unruly passenger. This action is in line with IndiGo’s zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviour.
IndiGo is expected to file a detailed report with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA will investigate the matter and could impose a flying ban on the offending passenger.
This incident highlights the growing concern over unruly behaviour on Indian flights. The DGCA’s actions will set a crucial precedent for ensuring passenger safety and maintaining a peaceful onboard environment for all. The outcome of this case will be closely watched by both airlines and passengers alike.
