Flyover to Link PGIMER with New High Court: Chandigarh’s Ambitious Plan
The Chandigarh Administration has unveiled an ambitious plan to construct a four-lane flyover connecting the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and the proposed site for the new High Court in Sarangpur. This project is a key component of the administration’s 2025-2026 infrastructure development plan.
Sarangpur has been identified as the ideal location for the new High Court complex. The selection is based on factors such as land availability, existing infrastructure, and ease of connectivity.
Construction of the flyover is expected to commence shortly and is projected to take between 12 and 16 months to complete. This significant infrastructure upgrade aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve accessibility to both vital institutions.
The timely completion of this project will be crucial, not only for decongesting the city’s already strained roads but also for ensuring smooth functioning of the new High Court once operational. The seamless connectivity will be vital for judges, lawyers, and litigants alike.
