India Boosts US Consular Services: Diaspora Gets Easier Access
Nine new Indian consular service application centers will open across the United States starting August 1, 2025. This significant expansion aims to improve access to consular services for the vast Indian diaspora, numbering over 5.4 million.
One additional center is slated to open soon in Los Angeles, further enhancing convenience.
All these new centers will operate on Saturdays, catering to the busy schedules of many applicants.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to serving the needs of the Indian community abroad. The increased accessibility promises to streamline processes and reduce wait times for vital consular services, impacting everything from passport renewals to visa applications. The move is expected to significantly ease the burden on existing centers, particularly in major metropolitan areas.
