Metro Delay: Tewari Slams Bureaucratic Logjam in Chandigarh
Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari has sharply criticised the continued delay in the Chandigarh Metro project. He expressed deep concern over the lack of progress, urging immediate action from the relevant authorities.
Tewari highlighted the project’s vital role in enhancing connectivity and boosting the city’s economic prospects. He attributed the standstill to what he termed “bureaucratic inertia”.
The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMTA) is yet to submit a comprehensive project report. Meanwhile, RITES is awaiting a revised scenario analysis report before proceeding.
This delay is causing significant concern, potentially impacting not only Chandigarh’s development but also the timely implementation of crucial infrastructure projects across the nation. The need for accountability and efficient project management is paramount.
