C-295 Delivery: India’s Air Power Gets a Major Boost
India has taken delivery of the final 16 Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft from Spain, two months ahead of schedule. This significant milestone marks a crucial step in the modernization of the Indian Air Force.
The early arrival of these advanced aircraft is a testament to the strong Indo-Spanish defence partnership. It significantly enhances India’s strategic airlift capabilities.
The remaining 40 C-295 aircraft are set to be manufactured domestically by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). This underscores the government’s commitment to ‘Make in India’ and self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
This accelerated delivery not only bolsters India’s national security but also signals a significant leap forward in indigenization efforts. The timely completion of this project is expected to boost India’s strategic positioning in the region.
