Yadav’s Missing Name? EC Rebuts Bihar Deputy CM’s Electoral Roll Claim

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, alleged his name was missing from the state’s draft electoral rolls. He accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of bias.

The ECI swiftly refuted Yadav’s claim. A voter list, provided by the commission, clearly shows his name registered.

Yadav, who represents the Raghopur Assembly constituency, is a registered voter in Digha. The draft electoral rolls were published following a recent revision exercise.

This incident raises concerns about the accuracy of electoral rolls, particularly ahead of any upcoming elections. The credibility of the electoral process is paramount for a healthy democracy, and thorough verification is crucial to ensure every eligible citizen can exercise their right to vote.
