Ludhiana Mayor’s Office Siege: BJP Councillors Booked
Ludhiana Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against several BJP councillors and twenty others. The complaint alleges disruption of the Mayor’s office on August 3, 2025.
The councillors reportedly clashed with the Mayor, attempting to prevent her from attending a public meeting. Their stated reason was to discuss stalled development projects within the city.
The heated exchange reportedly involved verbal arguments and attempts to physically obstruct the Mayor’s movements. This led to the filing of the FIR under relevant sections of the law.
The BJP has pledged to continue its advocacy for the people of Ludhiana, despite the legal action taken against its councillors. This incident highlights growing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition in the city’s municipal corporation.
