Chamba Medical College Opens Dedicated Lactation Room
A much-needed breastfeeding room has been inaugurated at Chamba Medical College, providing a private and comfortable space for lactating mothers. The facility, opened on August 2nd, 2025, coincides with World Breastfeeding Week.
The initiative, supported by the Mamta Foundation, underscores the importance of breastfeeding for infant health and development. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. stressed the significance of frequent breastfeeding and a nutritious maternal diet.
The CMO highlighted the crucial role of proper nutrition in ensuring optimal child growth and development. He urged mothers to prioritize breastfeeding and maintain a healthy diet.
This new facility at Chamba Medical College is a welcome step towards promoting maternal and child health in the region.
