High Court Orders Timber Trail Tax Booth Shift to Ease Traffic Chaos
The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the relocation of the Timber Trail entry tax collection point to alleviate persistent traffic congestion. The Court suggested shifting the facility to Sanwara, approximately 15 kilometers away.
This move is intended to significantly reduce traffic bottlenecks, particularly impacting Himachal Pradesh-registered vehicles currently exempted from the tax.
Sanwara was chosen due to the presence of a well-managed NHAI toll plaza with multiple lanes, ensuring smoother vehicle flow.
The Court’s intervention addresses a long-standing grievance of commuters and tourists, highlighting the judiciary’s role in resolving infrastructural bottlenecks. The efficient movement of goods and people is crucial for Himachal Pradesh’s economy, and this decision directly contributes to that.
