Jakhar Slams AAP: Vendetta or Governance? Vigilance Raid Sparks Political Firestorm

Senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar has launched a scathing attack on the AAP government in Punjab, following a Vigilance Bureau raid on the premises of Ranjit Singh Gill, a recent BJP recruit. The raid, conducted on August 3, 2025, has been condemned by Jakhar as blatant political vendetta.

Jakhar accused the AAP government of using the Vigilance Bureau as a tool for arm-twisting political opponents. He described the government’s actions as “gangster-like,” alleging a complete disregard for due process.

He further criticized the AAP’s land pooling policy, raising concerns about its implementation and impact on farmers. Jakhar’s statement also targeted Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, questioning its effectiveness.

The timing of the raid, immediately after Gill’s switch to the BJP, has fueled speculation of political motivations. This incident highlights growing concerns about the use of state machinery for political gains in Punjab, and its potential impact on the upcoming elections.
