Delhi School Bill: Yadav Slams ‘Misleading’ Fee Hike Clause
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Devender Yadav today launched a scathing attack on the Delhi School Education Bill, 2025, calling its provisions on fee regulation “misleading” and insensitive to parents. He argued the bill, in its current form, fails to adequately protect parents against arbitrary fee hikes by private schools.
Yadav highlighted the lack of clear and enforceable guidelines within the bill. He expressed concern that the proposed structure allows schools excessive control over fee fixation committees, potentially exacerbating existing disputes rather than resolving them.
The MLA pointed to the bill’s ambiguity as a major flaw, claiming it leaves parents vulnerable to exploitation. He asserted that the current draft needs substantial revision to ensure it truly safeguards the interests of parents.
He demanded the immediate withdrawal of the bill and a comprehensive consultation process involving parents, school managements, and education experts to create a truly just and effective law.
This development underscores the growing concerns surrounding school fees in Delhi and highlights the urgent need for a transparent and robust regulatory framework that protects the rights of parents and ensures affordable quality education for all children.
