Kurukshetra’s Novel Night Watch: Clerks Take to the Beat
Kurukshetra police have initiated an unconventional crime-fighting strategy. Since July, office staff have been deployed for night patrols in Thanesar, Ladwa, and Shahabad.
The initiative, running from 9 PM to 3 AM, aims to bolster police presence and tackle rising crime. This includes addressing issues like drunk driving and traffic violations.
Early results show significant impact. The patrols have already issued a large number of challans and compiled comprehensive stranger rolls.
This innovative approach, while unusual, reflects a proactive effort to enhance law and order in the region. The success of this initiative could inspire similar strategies in other resource-constrained districts across Haryana and beyond, setting a new benchmark for community policing.
