The Punjab government has announced a significant allocation of Rs 70 crore for the development of 35 sites in Patiala linked to the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur. This initiative commemorates the 350th anniversary of his martyrdom.

The ambitious project aims to enhance and preserve these historically significant locations, ensuring their accessibility and relevance for future generations. Work will encompass restoration, beautification and improved infrastructure.

Commemorative events are scheduled to begin on November 19, 2025. These will include state-wide yatras, exhibitions showcasing the Guru’s life and teachings, and a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

This significant investment underscores the state’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage and promoting religious tourism.
