Congress Alleges China Cover-Up: Ladakh Losses Masked?
The Congress party on Monday launched a scathing attack on the government’s handling of India-China relations, alleging a deliberate attempt to conceal territorial losses in Ladakh following the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash. The opposition party accused the ruling dispensation of “normalising” relations with China despite significant setbacks.
Congress leaders pointed to restricted access for Indian patrols in certain areas of Ladakh as evidence of a concerning situation. They questioned the government’s narrative, contrasting it with the Prime Minister’s earlier statements downplaying the extent of the territorial incursions.
The party demanded a comprehensive parliamentary debate on the issue, calling for greater transparency and accountability from the government. They argued that the nation deserves a clear and honest assessment of the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
This renewed focus on the India-China border dispute comes at a crucial juncture, with ongoing negotiations and the need for a strong and decisive approach to safeguard national interests. The Congress’s allegations are certain to intensify the political debate in the coming days and raise crucial questions about national security.
