Free Ride for Sisters: CTU Offers Raksha Bandhan Travel Gift

Chandigarh, August 6, 2025: The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has announced a special gift for women this Raksha Bandhan. All women will enjoy free travel on CTU buses within the tricity on August 9th.

This gesture of goodwill applies to all local AC and non-AC buses operating within Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali. However, the offer excludes long-route buses.

The initiative aims to celebrate the spirit of Raksha Bandhan and honour the sisterly bond. It’s expected to ease commute for women travelling to meet their brothers on the auspicious day.

This move is likely to significantly reduce the burden on women’s wallets, especially during the festive season. The CTU’s gesture is a welcome initiative, showcasing a thoughtful approach to public transport and social events.
