Panchkula Nightlife Curfew: HC Wins, City Sleeps by 3 AM

The Haryana government assured the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, that all bars and clubs in Panchkula will adhere to the 3 AM closing time mandated by the state’s excise policy.

This assurance followed a public interest litigation highlighting numerous establishments flouting the regulations and disturbing the peace.

The state government detailed its recent crackdown, citing several FIRs filed against errant businesses and recommendations for license cancellations.

The High Court, satisfied with the government’s commitment and actions taken, disposed of the case. However, it left the door open for future petitions should violations continue.

This decisive action sends a strong message about enforcing regulations and maintaining public order, impacting not just Panchkula’s nightlife but setting a precedent for other cities facing similar challenges.
